| Assuming you are an MEI, the regs require you have 5 PIC in type to give instruction for a rating. If you do not have the MEI yet, you will need 15 PIC multi to be able to take the checkride. |

| Old Skool | When I was there, it was if you could legally instruct in it and had the "seniority" to do it, you could do it. I was instructing in the Seminole after 2 weeks. That was before the insurance changed, though.

| Yep, and a beauty at that. I wouldn't instruct at Skymates to just build multi- they want instructors who want to be there. Business is booming from what I understand. |

I'll tell you, the Seminole is one very nice plane to timebuild in, and you would be pleasantly surprised at how available the planes are to schedule, as well as where and how far you can get away outside of the DFW area. I think you also have to consider the fact that you can rent the Seminoles on most days and timebuild during the day, vs. what most of the other guys are offering. I am pretty sure that the other guys really want to rent you their ME planes after civil twilight. Some night flying is fun, but getting all of your ME hours at night.....not fun in my book. Hope this helps.

| Old Skool | The leaseback reason sounds plausible. The owner might have that clause in the lease agreement in order to save some $$$ on insurance.

| We usually restrict the Duchess to the foreign students. Two reasons.... First off...Its the only airplane they can fly. Their countries do not recognize the the PA-44 as an aircraft because there are no registered PA-44's in their country. If we allowed timebuilding in the aircraft it would slow their training down. Second..If we allowed timebuilding in the BE-76 then we would have to do checkouts in them. Senerio...You come and get a 10 hour checkout in the BE-76 to do some time building and the next day someone dings the prop and the plane is down for a couple weeks. We only have one so you would have two options...Pay for a 10 hour PA-44 checkout or sit on the gound. Not a good situation. We have backup 'noles to prevent that situation. make sense? ![]() p.s..Complexhi, Just noticed your PM and about to reply. |

| Na, Kell's record is safe, I hit 130 in Sept month. Last two weeks I had 80 hrs. That was a sweet paycheck. Steve's record would have been demolished if I had not started slow because I still had to pick up students those first couple weeks there. October I had 100hrs, with almost week and a half off due to Network JC and interviews.

| Old Skool | Heh, I was planning on going to NJC in 05. "Sure, let me check my schedule. Oh, crap. I'm already booked solid that weekend." BTW, this was in Sept..... The hours I was packing away was a total fluke. Basically, I fell into a couple of Commerical students, and every discovery flight I did turned into a full or heavy part time student.
