Default Assigning an Instructor

I will be starting my instrument training in a few weeks, and then I am planning on proceeding on with the private multi. Does Skymates randomly assign you an instructor based on what program you are doing? I was hoping to have some continuity by having the same instructor for both. Any recommendations on who would be good for these programs? Thanks!

You can either pick your instructor, or they'll give you one. More than likely, it'll be the same instructor the whole way through. I had the same instructor for my CMEL, CSEL, MEI and CFI. I had a different instructor for the CFI-I initial since it had to be someone with more time as a CFI. I also had several students that stuck with me for several ratings, so I wouldn't worry about instructor continuity.
