|  Off the e-mail wire from the FAA today... New Arlington Tower (GKY) Notice Number: NOTC0477 Arlington Municipal Airport will mark a milestone next month with the opening of the general aviation field's fully staffed control tower. Beginning Aug. 14, air traffic controllers are expected to staff the tower from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. The number for the tower is: 817-459-5562. The frequencies for the new facility are as follows:

| Re: Off the e-mail wire from the FAA today... Only reason i posted this is that we never got an e-mail about galveston tower when it went "live." The tower was up almost 4 months before they started communicating, so I assume the situation was the same up at GKY. Even now we still have to monitor unicom because some pilots still don't know. Can't wait to come up there for a couple of days and fly with skymates. |
