Prices on the Increase :(

Just noticed that the pro pilto courses jumped by about $5-6k each in the last couple of days.

Any news on more increases in the future?

That's one of the problems of having a single fuel provider on the field. They can more or less charge whatever they want for fuel and the schools have to either fly all their planes to another airport for fuel or bend over and take it. Plus, if they take 20 minutes to come fuel your 172 b/c the 3 line guys are busy with the Gulfstream that just pulled in, it's not like you can call the other FBO......

We've actually been eating this one for about the last month, hoping that fuel costs would go back down. Eventually we had to raise the rates, though.

i have an idea. pay the cfis even less. then they wont be able to afford food. They will lose weight, resulting in decreased fuel burn when theyre flying.

Could just have the students pay the grocery bill for the CFIs. That's one way of eliminating the middle man, I guess. Although, I do have to say that the chief pilot occasionally does take the "care and feeding of flight instructors" under serious consideration as part of her job description.
