| Ok - I've looked at the forum, found some commentary on maintenance - but decided to launch a post to get more. Anway - how well are these planes maintained? How old are they? Does the company hold the planes to a high standard - or is there some slack? Also, how professional is the flight instruction? If anyone can compare this to Ari-Ben in Florida, let me know - I'm looking at both... gringotuanis@Hotmail.com |

| Old Skool | Can't compare it to Ari, never went there. Won't even try to and no one else that is here will make that attempt either unless they have doing training at Ari. The planes are maintained extremely well. When we tell them that something is broken, it gets fixed. Like we had a vacum pump that was reading low on one of the Seminole's. We taxied back in and told a mechanic and he took care of it that night. At other places I've flown at, they would have said "But it's only reading a tenth below specs! Quit complaining and go flying." That dosen't happen here in my experience (I've been here almost two months). The planes are older, but well maintained. I took one of their 172's from Texas to Michigan and back and nothing went wrong. Two of the older 172's have GNS 430's, another two have KMD 150's (not approved for IFR), then the last older 172 has some other GPS in it (never flown it). There are two newer 172's that are in perfect shape (We send them to the FSDO). The Arrow is solid, though booked all the time. The Seminoles are all time building machines, but they keep you safe. The flight instruction is quality. I'm going for a ride with the FSDO soon for my CFII (as initial) and I feel fully prepared. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask. |
