Default ACT scores

Does anybody know what ACT scores you should have to be admitted?

Thanks

What ACT scores do you need to get into any accredited school? Ask your school counselor and he/she will tell you!

If your school counselor doesn't help you, contact admissions at Purdue and ask them straight up!

btw, isn't the SAT better to take? I know i took the ACT back in the day but i've been hearing more and more SAT vs ACT.

Is the ACT an east coast thing? Where I was at it's all about the SAT. But when I applied at colleges they kept asking for my ACT scores but said the SAT "will do." Whatever that means.

I don't know what ACT scores colleges are looking for. For the SAT though anything above 1000 should get you into your basic colleges just fine.

I think a 1000 on the SAT is comparable to a 21 on the ACT.

I know around here they want at least a 19 overall. Of course that's the lowest many schools will accept, you're not going to get any scholarships with a score like that. And anything less than a 19 in each section of the test will get you into a remedial course.

I've seen 21 for in-state residents and 23 for outa the state res's. But there are so many other factors that admissions look at than a test score. As evidence I was accepted to UND as an out of stater with only a 21 (Woo! Go me!), but a solid GPA.

Every states a little different and the quality of the school makes a difference also on what the lowest score accepted is.

Where I live, in the midwest, nearly everyone takes the ACT.

Yeah the ACT is definitely one of those funky midwest things, I applied to a bunch of schools and the only time I saw ACT was for a school in Minnisota.

Oh and they changed the SAT, 1600 used to be perfect, now its 2400.

It sucks for me cause I was asked the other day what I got, and when I said 1330 the response was "oh, must not be a strong test taker huh" and I was all like "90 something percentiles are too good what you talkin bout"

I got into Purdue's flight program with a 1210, although I didn't end up going there.

I think the SAT is more popular, nationally.

Kinda funny after I posted the first time I talked with some high school kids about SATs and ACTs.

Apparently the new SAT is really messed up. Noone knows what the deal is with the new essay section, they're having some major standardization problems and the credibility of the SAT has gone down the tubes because of it.

So the ACT is becoming alot more popular with college admissions and high school guidance councilors. I'm glad I never had to write an essay on my SATs!
