I had the opportunity to watch a demonstration of the Cirrus Jet. Here are some pictures I took: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

| (not to try to take away from your amazing pictures but) I liked the ECJ better. At least they could go upside down ![]() Oh yea, and it had de-icing! Notice any on the SJ50?

I don't know about you guys, but that fuselage looks awfully draggy. After some research, this thing only has 1,900 lbs of thrust. Something tells me this thing is no speed machine, at all. Heck, even the ugly Diamond D-Jet looks nicer than this. In any case, those are some sweet pictures. |

That thing came to PDK last week and did a few low passes for the tower and for Epps. It was pretty cool to watch. Also, very quiet.

| Senior Member | Yeah, I'll believe that when I see it. The comparably sized D-Jet claims a cruise speed of 240.

| Max cruise speed is actually 315 in the D-Jet. 240 is the best range cruise speed.

Great pics. |

| Senior Member | I understand that. What I don't understand, is how a jet the fundamentally is bigger (SJ-50 versus D-Jet), an yet is going to go faster, on less thrust. Granted, I'm no engineer, but I don't think the SJ-50 is that much of a cleaner airframe to get it those numbers.

| Senior Member | I kind of see that, after looking at it for a while now. That said, I'd bet this 300 knot cruise business is a marketing number, not from the flight guys.

I personally use the 10% rule. 10% less range, speed, payload, space etc......

Why two stall strips per wing? I mean isn't a little buffet over the flaps enough or is the second one for ailerons. If so, please tell me the ailerons aren't that big that they come in that far, As far as drag, if it's composite it takes a TON of drag off the airplane with it being so much closer to laminar flow. Take the SR20 and Piper Arrow. The 20's got a few extra horsepower but a huge advantage in speed, climb, t/o and landing performance. The SR20's we had even beat the PA44's.

I sure won't be flying this airplane due to it not being able to recover from a spin.

You don't exactly hear about many jets getting into spins these days.
