Default Udvar-Hazy Center - Abstract photography

Had about 5 hours to kill today between the time they kicked me out of the hotel and departure to come home. So, I took my merry little tail down to the Udvar-Hazy Center. This is the second time I've been, but the first time I didn't know what the heck I was doing with a digital camera. Now that I do, sorta, I snapped away.

About 30 minutes into it, I got bored with the traditional "get the whole airplane in the shot" look, so I challenged myself to find interesting parts, pieces, or lines on the various aircraft.

Here are some examples:

Air France Concorde inlets

Hawker Hurricane exhaust

Business end of an F-86

For all you lovers of engines with an odd number of cylinders... A Wright Cyclone attached to a Boeing 307

P-38 .50 cal

Don't want to kill anyone's internet connection. You can view the entire series on my flickr page

I agree. Between people walking around and the poor lighting, it ain't the easiest thing to do. Thankfully my camera can handle ISO 800 with no real trouble. Image stabilization on a f2.8 lens really helps also.
