1) 98 on my IFR written 2) Got to fly in the right seat of a gorgeous Cessna 340. First time I got to fly at the Flight Levels with my hands on the controls in a presurized plane! Sweet! 3) Got to fly out to Fredericksburg in my mistress, Julie........The Piper Arrow The patriotic fleet of my small flight school, pulled out for early morning preflight: ![]() ![]() AFD? Wassat? ![]() ![]() I have yet to go to a better more conveinent airport eatery. The last picture is of the Hangar Hotel. If you go there to eat, make sure you go to the hotel and ask if you can look at some rooms. They are AWESOME theme rooms; Flying WWII stuff, not S&M, you dirty people! ![]() Here is a picture of the Arrow I am about 50 hours of 100 into flying. Next to it is the my flight schools 152, back from fresh paint and new motor. I got a ridiculously low break-in block and am flying it to El Paso next weekend. Landed the arrow on RWY 14 with winds at 23018G24 in perfect form! Someone on JC once told me it would take 200 or so hours to feel confident with XC landings...they were right! ![]() Here is a picture of the diner from a month ago when I took the 172 ![]() And the hotel, also from a month ago. ![]() Some stinking rich dude decided that his one runway, in the absolute middle of nowhere, was not enough. So looks like he is building another! ![]() The humble abode is not far from the runways. Has to be some person of some notoriety I would imagine. ![]() Is it me or does this pool just not fit in with the rest of it? In the middle of nowhere too. Looked to be about 5-10 miles to the nearest paved road. ![]() Belton Lake, near the Temple Airport...home sweet home! The final picture of the day ...The flight schools' workhorse 65 Eskimo at sunset: |

| It is indeed a C-47. It's been sitting there for about 2 years, and it dosen't look like it will move anytime soon. I have no idea what the whole story is.
