Well, part of the glamour of this industry is having to move 100 times in 5 years. Starting in about hours, I'll be taking one of my rides from PHX to BNA, since I'm going to be spending most of my time there (and I have a date this weekend). If any of you are going to be on I-40 in the next two days, wave and I'll take your pic. Otherwise, as Ozzy says, I'll see you on the other side. -B |

Hmm... right now it's a matter of finding the motivation to actually go. All I want is 2 days off to sit around, relax, and drink beer without having to jumpseat or drive or ... . It's only been about 3 months since I've been able to do that.Oh well, the weather looks good so it's time to get going. |

OK so that didn't work at all. From a lil bit East of ABQ until I hit MEM, I wasn't on the Verizon network so I was unable to send pictures. Next time I'll take the longer route so everyone can see just how boring it is to drive a straight line for 25 hours. |

You didn't overnight in MEM did you? I'm actually home this weekend, and it would have been cool to see ya. A guy I used to work with at SWA that flies for Mesa now is flying into MEM on Thur night. Too bad I won't be back from IAH till Fri. |

I've done I-10 from SMO to JAX. Took a lil over 3 days because my dad came with, and he can't do more than 12 hours on the road. Gets kinda grouchy. My other truck (Bronco) and I have pretty much looped the country. Been to SoCal from PHX, then from PHX to SAT, up to WV, over to CMH, back to PHX via MCI and OKC. Yeah ... many miles of boredom. Road trips are good for groups, but when I need to make time ... I'm going solo. |

Why go by road, when a plane can get you there faster?

[ QUOTE ] ......rule of thumb stay on the interstate and stick to well populate areas more especially in the south!!! [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Never travel off the interstate unless you're strapped... [/ QUOTE ] I jested of course but generally I agree with you more especially in the south. When I lived in Alabama my aunt and I were going to back woods Wal-Mart and the Sherriff told us that "n______s y'all best be outa here fore sunset or else!" I mean so there is that aspect then there is the possiblity of running into inbred slack jawed cannibals. Neither scenario is exactly enticing for me so I don't like getting off the interstate and going on backwoods S.R. or R.R or S.H. Matthew |
