| Junior Member | The high aspect ratio of those wings is unmistakable- definitely a 737.... -700 I think since the fuselage doesn't look longer than the wingspan. The look of the empennage confirms its a 737... I can't think of any other airliner where the horizontal stab tapers to such a small "wing"-tip. The next-gen 737s have high aspect ratio wings and stabs because they were restricted to using the center wing box and center stab box structure of the original 737. Increased wingspan + same old short chord length = high aspect ratio. With the exception of the 737 NG you usually see high aspect ratio wings on Airbus <spits on floor>. Everyone knows high aspect ratio wings are more efficient (though I wonder if that remains true with supercritical wings, like on the 777), but they have less room for fuel and less wing area- which is why Singapore Airlines traded in their A340s for 777s! Aero Mexico was my first thought also, but I don't feel like going to airliners.net to confirm it. - Matt (obsessed with Boeing aircraft since the age of 7) ![]()
