| Thanks, it's my favorite $250.00 hamburger run for sure! I highly recommend the 56 Fighter Squadron at FRG for lunch / dinner - always a nice time! Have patience though with ATC there... they tend to be a bit on the 'we-get-annoyed-easily' side of things ![]() |

| Nice! I took lessons at FRG - were you number 9 for landing? |

| No - I learned in a C-152 across the pond in Danbury, CT (DXR), where also being #9 wasn't uncommon either! A good place to learn because every place else will seem 'easy' in comparison. I try to make it over to FRG a few times per year to eat at the Fighter Squadron If you don't already have reservations for Father's Day there... don't bother - you need to call at least 2 months in advance! If you're ever over in DXR - I can recommend the 10 minute walk to Chuck's - (leave your vegetarian friends at home) |

As for Joanie.... the remaining C152 is $117.00 per hour (includes the insurance surcharge) and I've been flying their Arrow PA-28R-200 for the steal-of-a-price of $159.00 per hour. She has (I believe) a 2006 C172 with a G-1000 for more than that! Her planes aren't pretty, but at least they run well enough. Depending on when you departed DXR, she bought out North American, moved over to that side of the airport and actually imporoved the place... but the prices! If I had not been flying for the past 10 years, I couldn't afford it now! Safe flying!

The Fighter Squadron is a great place to eat - one of my favorites. Having learned at DXR, which I'm guessing is about as busy as FRG (minus a few of the jets I'm sure), it seems like a good brother-sister type airport in spirit. The controllers at FRG seem to on average have their panties in a bunch more often than at DXR... but only towards those 'visiting' pilots who haven't learn at an airport where being #10 in the pattern wasn't your normal Friday, Saturday, Sunday routine!
