I crave White Castles!
So what do you think of the layover hotel? I hear umericun lays over there too.

In flight, there's a tray like you saw before.

Then there's also an optional fruit and cheese plate or an ice cream sundae (or both if you're so inclined).

Before landing, there's a hot breakfast (usually an omelet and breakfast meats, fruit, pastries, etc).

Now if you're still hungry or you've actually ate all that, something ain't right!

Westbound, it's pretty much the same thing except for instead of a hot breakfast, there's a snack like a hamburger, shrimp quesadilla or chicken salad or something like that.

It's impossible to go hungry.

And no I don't eat even 25% of what's thrown at me!

Thank goodness my ATL/PDX flight tonight is blocked under 5:30. That means I get to eat my favorite crew meal. None of that fancy real human food for me!

Do you domestic 767 guys normally have 1 leg days? Rode one of your planes back from Vegas 2 days ago. The IFE in coach was nice! Made the flight go by fast.

GTF out!!

You didn't really have weight to lose, why the big weight shift?

Well, I think I weight about the same as I did when I saw you last (and for the last 13 years or so for that matter!)

At our shop, we usually have good food, but no hot nuts.

Unless you're in Korea. Then it sucks. Bad. How bad? Guys have been known to buy Korean Spam to eat. Guys on probie pay buy food to bring.

That was my first time there.

As we got in so late, everything was closed nearby.....except for a few pubs......which was all we wanted anyway. We went to the pub behind the hotel which is part of the sister hotel and gives us 30% off on beer.

Beer! It's what's for dinner!

Anyway...

We did not see any Klingons. [AA]

Looks like a good part of town to be in. Mo betta than Jackson, MS.

Will do a recon mission next layover there.

....

I see you got a cool schedule for June. Have fun on your Tour de Espana.

I'll be on a Tour de Milano!

But I might swap one of my MXPs for a ATL-CDG-SLC-CDG-ATL trip my buddy is on. My buddy knows people in Paris and it will be a hella good time. Plus I miss Squatter's Full Suspension Pale Ale, Chasing Tail Pale Ale, and the Hefewisen. And we could mtn bike the Bonneville Bench trail, behind the U of U, that morning, before our evening departure back to CDG.

The dilemma is that there is also a line check airman on that CDG trip too. And I think I flew with that LCA before......and if I remember right.....he was a 1st class A-hole. A real nit-noidy type....the kind of guy who gets so wrapped up in minutia details he misses the big picture. Probably starches and irons his underwear too. He even spent 15 miuntes looking over and briefing me on the chart notams.....can you freakin believe that? I thought the only reason they give us chart notams is in case we run out of toilet paper.

Also, because the cptn is a LCA, one of us could get pulled off the trip for a newbie's IOE.

And if I had to guess, I'd think the customs in SLC would be a pain in the arse.

London's funny like that, some places shut down shop early.

15 minutes on chart notams? Holy freaking cow. Lemme guess, the type where the plane's on fire, no radar contact, you've got a 12,000 foot long runway you're alredy aligned with that you're on a delicious 3:1 glidepath for and he wants a delay vector to brief the visual for 15 minutes, eh? Oh yeah, I know the type!

The LCA's in NYC are fantastic. In fact, I have one on my AGP trip, I'm the senior FO so they'll probably drop it or something then I have that 23K recovery... Ick, last time I had that I got burned with that humorless, super senior crew that thought I was satan incarnate because I liked the new safety video.

First Course:

Clockwise from top left: Caprese salad, asparagus soup, proscuitto and a crab salad, butter, carmelized onion over hummus and veggies.

Second Course:

Yardbird with a red wine reduction, gnocci and green beans.

No, I don't eat all this food. A LOT of guys do, surprisingly.
