Default Pie -> Vld

My friend and I flew from St. Pete, FL to Valdosta, GA a couple weeks ago, thought I'd share some of the pics we took.
I flew the leg up to GA, he flew it back.
My friend looking at the chart upside down (sarcasm):

Some fires over northern Florida:

Almost there:

Starting the descent into Valdosta:

Our flight path, I'm not sure why it cut out just short of the airport, and why it's showing us departing Clearwater Air Park, when we actually departed St. Pete/Clearwater INTL Airport...

Our plane after we landed:

Some other planes:

Airforce A-10's doing training missions:

The crew car we used... (hey, it was free for two hours):

Driving around after we got some food at the waffle house:

Airport Tower and FBO:

Some random pics of our plane:

On the flight back, we took some amazing pictures:

The instruments:

XM Radio:

(He's wearing foggles)

XM Weather map:

Me flying from the right seat:

Sky is turning black:

Because of the winds blowing 100@22G30 and St. Pete's rnwy 9's lights were out, we had to divert to Tampa Intl:

Those pictures are sweet! Thanks for sharing!

The reason why flightaware is showing aberrant information is because the website underwent a recent "upgrade", which resulted in a myriad of bugs and glitches of sorts. They are currently working on resolving the problem.

Actually, I never knew that the G1000 had XM Radio. That's certainly something interesting.

Hey Polar, each way was about 2 hours, so not that bad. Unfortunately, I've been sick the last month and a half, it went from a cold, to a sinus infenction, and is now finally getting over, so I've fell off the diet, but I got back on it friday, so I'll be updating soon... Thanks so much for the support!

coa787, yeah the XM radio is cool as hell! It'll turn off anytime someone talks through the comm. But when we're tuned in to approach or anybody, it's off.

Well, I did a discovery flight at the airpark back when I was 12 years old, which was 10 years ago. I also did the CAP there for maybe 3 months before I got tired of it, but I fly out of PIE at CAMS Flight School now. The 172 G1000 right now is $138/hr, and that's because Signature is raping GA over there with fuel at $6.50/gal.

Going back to the flight aware, I wonder if it showed us from CLW because we took off right into the Tampa Class Bravo airspace, they vectored us over the airpark at 2400 I think, and I requested a freq change to activate the flight plan, so maybe that was why...?

Next time you go up and you have the radio on hold down the Marker/Mute button until you hear it beep twice.

I hate it when ATC interrupts a good song!

Great pics. On a side note, if you ever go back to Valdosta there is a really really great BBQ place right down the street from the FBO. I think it is north about a half a mile. It looks kind of dumpy, but it is AMAZING!

Hey! I've driven that car! Did the line guys get you with the "Free Peaches" cooler? It got the captain I fly with and all 3 of our passengers.

And I see you parked under Dolly Parton's bra in Tampa.

Haha no they didn't, but I'm going to keep an eye out for that.

Yeah, I was going to ask ground if they'd let us taxi to airside A since I work there for B6, but it would be a bit embarrassing to hear a request from a 172 to taxi to the airside!
