Default A little Paris, a little Venice

On the remote pad at JFK during boarding:

I dunno a kind of artsy shot...

The "listing widget" 757 with winglets:

Ice!

Grub

The old "water bottle trick" to block the sun:

Jepps, jepps, jepps:

Business end of an Air France 747

Who?!

Finally solved my Venice chart drama:

The airport at Venice:

I don't know, I was getting ready to eat lunch, but now..... it's kinda like the pictures of food in magazines. It may look like the best piece of chocolate cake ever, but usually it's mostly cardboard.

Nice photos Doug. I bought myself a really cool opera mask from Venice. Every time I put it on, the movie "Amadeus" pops into my head and I hear Tom Hulce's crazy laugh!

Nice sunset shot at JFK as well...speaking of JFK, anyone ever stay at the JFK Doubletree?

Is it fairly close to the airport?

Awesome photos! Did you, by any chance, happen to take that photo of the 757 while you were over the Atlantic? I heard that Delta was going to service some European cities with the 757, but I didn't know when they were going to start.

So that is what a first class meal looks like? I am going to fire up the grill and make a steak!

Great pictures! Thanks for sharing, they remind me what I am working towards.

Great pictures Doug! I went to Venice a couple years ago in January, most picturesque city I have ever seen. Hope you had some good pasta ;-)

Nope. Remember if you're an FMC aircraft, you largely only monitor 121.5 and 123.45 until crossing the OCA boundaries. Very little radio chatter over the Atlantic, unless some bozo's playing his MP3 player over 123.45 or some Jet Airways early retiree bothering everyone.

"Hey 'Merican 419, Jet Airways 5. Hey ya'll I'm an early re-TAR-EE from 'Merican, how ya'all doin'? Where ya'all goin'?"

SHAAAAADUUUP!

or

"Any of you chaps have the rugby scores from the Brisbane game?"

"Huh? What's that?"

Is that the camera that is in the commercial with that hot tennis girl name Sharaporva?

Unless the commercial comes on during "The Soup" or "Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares (BBC version)", I most likely haven't seen it!

OK...

1. What does "OCA" mean?
2. The radio chatter between aircraft; doesn't it have its own frequency called "common"?

The real question is, is the steak in that picture in your stomach as we speak? Or in some sewer drain in AZ? I kid I kid.
