| Old Skool | ![]() Took this picture at Tulsa Int'l today just before the electric went out and shut down the airport. Which makes it tough to get back to work. ![]() ![]() Been a pretty rough couple days here.

We are getting the same stuff over here in Stillwater, about 40 miles to the West. I called Millionaire over there this morning and their power was shut off as well. Glad SWO power isn't out |

curious to hear as far as Colgan...what happens when you are iced in like that and can NOT get to work at all...with no commuter clause I was told that Colgans stand is missed trip. What has been your experience so far or has it not been an issue and youve made it everytime

I will be going to stillwater on Wednesday...I should be there for a couple of weeks doing aerial mapping. Anything interesting in town? I'm in Lawton right now and it's like a giant freezer here

| Old Skool | Not a good idea. They can track when you check in through the CASS System and where you are. "so you tried to get on xyz flight, but then called in sick?" Is the question you will need to answer. Bascially, you are screwed without a commuter clause. According to them it is your fault, you don't live in base. Welcome once again to Colgan.

I did it last month and nothing happened. I'm not saying its a great idea but if you needed to you could. I don't think they really check but I could be wrong. I know of some others that utilized the "commuter policy" as well and nothing happened to them either. But in the end you're screwed without a commuter clause. Makes it rough when there is weather and during peak travel times. Just make sure you leave yourself enough flights to get yourself there.

I know a few guys up here who called in sick and were brought to the carpet, had to do the dance, and got something in their file. I would be careful with doing that. They might not check or they might check.

I just told them the truth and had to talk to the CP. I got a talking to about it and its being handled. Not much more I can do about it, aside from trying to make sure it doesn't happen again. 3 FO's on reserve and 24 hours notice, so scheduling said it was not a big deal.

Basically the policy right now is "you live in your base, any time away from base is vacation. If you don't make it back from vacation you are in big trouble." The Colgan's do NOT like commuters.

Seriously though, I don't really want to turn this into a bitch fest about our pay. However, the reality is most of us don't make enough to support ourselves let alone a family. The Colgan's acknowledge that we're payed pretty low. With this in mind most of us are probably "kept men/women." So we have to live where our S.O. can get payed the most. Why not institute a commuter policy, beyond the need for reservists it's a pretty easy QOL gimmee they can pass to us? PS Luckily I'm only a five hour drive from my base. I've had to institute this "commuter clause" a few times now for flight cancellations. (Never when Bareman was flying though )
