If I am not mistaken that is not a private F 18. Military aircarft still in service can not be privately owned (If memory serves right). The jet looks like it belongs to a weapons training squadron in Virginia Beach. I remember seeing the picture somehwere. All the instructors at the squadron are top gun graduates. Still cool pics man!! |

Could very well be, I'm really not sure. It was painted in what looked like a Russian scheme, and the line guy said it was some random guy's F-18, but then again he was also missing most of his teeth.

I heard a story that someone did manage to buy an F-18, but it was in pieces. http://www.cnn.com/2004/TECH/ptech/0....ap/index.html

I went in at about 6:45 pm on a saturday night before a Bears home game. I'm assuming it was a pretty busy time. The frequencies were all congested, but the tower there is a machine. I had to hold outside the charlie for about 5 minutes then they got me right in. However, the ramp at the FBO (Million Air) was really crowded; I was really glad I made a reservation. Due to Million Air being short staffed, we got a ride to the subway from the front desk lady's friend. We left at about midnight and it was dead. Tower was combined with ground and clearance.
