Default My New Ride

Here are some pics of our new airplane. I'll get some better ones next week.

Hmmm... that looks like a CHA 10-9 page on the yoke clip.

Is that a skull I see painted on the tail?

Yep, that the NOS CHA 10-9...those charts are hard to read! First thing Monday morning I'm getting the Jepp's in there! It's the logo of the previous company. There will soon be an American flag up there.

Yeah, it's not the most exciting. I think the lines need to go a little more forward. The second stripe though, is this chameleon color that changes in the sunlight and is really neat...and it should be at $750/quart.

Dude,

You've got the same PFD's, MFD, FMS, RMU, Comm Panel, & Radar that we have on the EMB-145! So if you ever make the transition...

Really? I don't see how upgrading to a Legacy would be going backwards...

Oh!!! A Legacy. Why didn't you say so
Now if we are talking a regional ERJ

......Of course the ERJ and the Excel have about the same Mmo.

Well, for just one second. . .excuse my ignorance.

Whatever is in our hanger, has CJ3 engine covers.

But, feel free to tell me what type of aircraft JDE posted. I'm one of the more uneducated corporate type jet aircraft individuals. . .

I agree. New contacts or glasses are needed!!

If you look at the CJ3 it has a T tail with boots. The Excel has this thing I like to call a mid tail that also has boots. Not sure what the technical term is, but the elevator is in the middle of the tail. Very ugly in my opinion.

CJ3 has a cabin height of 4'9" and width of 4'10"
XL/XLS has a cabin height of 5'8" and width of 5'6"

So you can see the cabin is much bigger in the XL when compared to the CJ3. I think that's why NJCapt said that to you because the two look nothing a like. The XL is touted as a stand up cabin, the CJ3 is can go 3/4 of the way across the U.S. on a budget.

You guessed correctly, the two look nothing alike. Good response. The answer to your question....it's a crucifix tail. Used on many aircraft including the Hawker, Jetstar, and B-1 Bomber.
