Default More Thunderstorm Photos

We took a trip to Lebanon, TN (just outside of Nashville) earlier this month and just beat in a very stong cold front.

Keep in mind the range on the Avydine is 300nm. Even the small dots of red on the left side were a pretty solid line.

These were the small red dots. It was taken from an altitude in the high teens.

The following day we took a day trip to Memphis to visit Graceland. The number of Fed Ex airplanes was amazing.

IFR with out a glass panel!?!

We have had a lot of nice IFR days so far this spring/summer.

Tangier Island in the Chesapeake. There are only three ways to the island, fly, boat, or swim!

One of the first G1000 Pipers with the Piper Jet in the background.

That's all,

Alex

It is a neat place to fly into and spend the day or even the night. You will see everything in a few hours though, it is not a very big island. The crabcrakes are great and the atmosphere is very unique. The runway is in terrible condition and they do charge $5, but that is pretty low considering they have no other source of making money. No fuel, no airplanes are based there, just a dude in a shack collecting his $5 a plane.

Alex.

As always, awesome shots Alex.

Another shot of Tangier Island. Compliments of yours truly.

If you ever do visit Tangier, make sure you keep the nosewheel off the ground as long as possible. And be ready for an involuntary launch back skyward. Lets just say that the sewage pipes under the runway didn't sink at the same rate as the runway itself.

Also, prepare yourself for the best crabcakes you'll ever taste.

The only thing I missed about my ex-girlfriend was her dad tossing out 4 crab pots into the Bay at 9 am and pulling them in at 3, and then the feast that began 2 hours later.
