| Old Skool | Right after the merger attempt (US-DAL) was announced a Delta 767 diverted into CLT during heavy thunderstorms in ATL. It parked on the end of the D gates as the crew was done for the night. Everybody was asking the ramp controller if the merger had already gone through as there was a DAL 767 parked between 2 US 767s. I tried to get a picture as we taxied by but the rain and darkness didn't allow for it. |

| "Dad" was ticked off that night, a few of our fellow members of the Red Headed Stepchild Club got some pretty good shots in on North Ramp Freq.

| Agent Smith | Ooh, and an MD-90 to boot! ![]() -90's are "exit....window...window...exit" and -88's are "exit...window...exit" There's still a bit of 'bad blood' in ATL about the merger issue suprisingly.

| Yeah there is, they've been running 757's into CLT lately and the fares were about 100 bucks cheaper RT to go on Delta out of here VS Airways.

It was still there as of 6:30 this evening when I drove past the hnagar coming home. Looked like maybe they had taken an engine off or the manifold was open. AZbigdog, do you know why it's at the hangar and what's wrong with it? The engines on the 90 aare the same as on the A320, right? | |

From what I've learned from the Inspector overlooking the work, an engine change on the md-90s takes three days and that's if you are in your own hangar environment. Do this work while on a road trip and it takes a lot longer. You're right Max, The 90s have the V2500s on them, same as our A319/320s (just a few differences).

| Old Skool | 3 days to change an engine? That must be an exclusive on the MD series. I know mainline here can change out an airbus engine in 12 hours or so and it only takes our MX guys about 15 hours to swap out one on the RJ. |

One thing I have to say is that the Delta mechanics that were here to do the engine change definitely earned their pay while here. Good job guys! Al

| Agent Smith | Ship 9205... Oh, that's "flipper" I think! We only had 16 MD-90's and most of them had a nickname.
