Default This is the aftermath...

when an engine self destructs from the inside.

Happened on climb out at FL170 out of LAS. Some of those small fragments are actually "welded" together from the intense heat.

What type of motor is that???
I've worked TF-33's and TF-34's. I'll soon be assigned to the KC-135R and C-17 out at March ARB. Thanks for sharing those pics.

That's an IAE V2500-A1 engine.
