Great storm shots up there... What's up with the tanker truck that looks like it came from the Mad Max movie set?

Just some random Idiot that tried to kill me during my trucking days.

He came across the median and into my lanes, then acroos my side and through the shoulder on the right, coming to rest on the frontage road. This after clipping a Tacoma and rolling them over.

Nice, I saw a story on the news the other day saying that being a trucker is one of the most dangerous jobs behind working the crab/lobster boats.

I drove for a couple different places over the years. I was never an owner operator. I would get home about once every 3 weeks for 2-3 days, and then back to work.

Yes, Tim its a dangerous job, top ten in deaths and injuries among all jobs. Fisherman, Lumberjacks, Miners, Truckers and Pilots all have it bad as for a dangerous jobs statistically.

On a side note, I was talking to my mom tonight and she said..."hey, by the way, I read an article in the paper today about how dangerous cargo flying is. Your company is a good one, right?" A little background, my mom's a Flight Attendant for AA.

I was ready to ring the neck of that author!!! I told her flat out our MX dept was better than her airline's...we hardly ever have MEL'ed items, and they are taken care of within a day or two...they continuously have tons of stuff deferred...she's had numerous flights with mx problems. Her airline has also had more fatal accidents than my cargo company, and more recently (Airbus in NY with the tail falling off). In their defense, they have more flight hours than us, but...still hating that stupid article going around.

So, needless to say, take the media with a grain of salt.

Having said all this, yes there are dangerous jobs out there, and aviation is one of them, but I'd hate to be a fisherman, lumberjack, or miner!!! I won't say I'd hate to be a truck driver, but glad I'm not having to do it for a living. Too many crazies out on the road

Fishing on my own for a living, though, with beer would be the ideal job!!! Out on a lake, beer in hand...anybody know where to find that job???

Sorry to hijack...great pics!

What does a Semi Truck looks like in the inside? I always wanted to know, but I've always been afraid to ask those guys to show me. Most of them drive like 18 hours a day, so i don't want to get on their sleep time or nothing.

Are they hard to drive? Because I hear they have like 16 gears, and I've only used to 5, lol.

It will be cool to drive a Truck for a day just for the fun of driving big vehicles.

Let's see

Airnet: Established 1974
American: Established 1934 (twice as long)

Airnet: 130 airplanes including Jetride
American: 989 including wholly the owned eagle (7.6x as many)

Good comparison!

(yes I know what you are saying, I'm just giving you crap ). Wasn't it american that started to outsource its mx to south america? Could've been NWA too, although with scab labor doing the work it's probably cheaper to keep it in house now...
