Default Pics of Univ. of Michigan Ann Arbor Campus

I don't know if I've posted these here before, but I put it in another thread to show a wind tunnel.

The following are shots of the U of M campus from the air, taken in a C152 from about 1100-1300 AGL.

My brother-in-law might be doing his MD residency there.... is the hospital on campus?

--EDIT--

...okay, duh... just found the picture labeled "Hospital"

I'll crawl back in my hole....

MAN I miss Ann Arbor! Some of my most vivid, poignant memories are from the U of M campus just after I started college . . .

In fact, West Quad was home! Room 211! It looked out onto the courtyard and was really, really small!

PhotoPilot I was a West Quad-er as well. 5th Williams in 1999 and 4th Williams in 2000. The final two years I lived across the street from Elbel Field. How long ago were you there?

Yeah, I was actually watching the game from San Antonio. But, I refused to go to the Alamo Bowl for various reasons. I went up to AA for the Penn State and Ohio State games. So, I had more than my annual fix for UM games now that I am living back in TX.

As for our basketball team.... DISAPPOINTMENT.

I'm optimistic for next football season though. New defensive coordinator and offensive coordinator.

I fly with Solo Aviation out of Ann Arbor. They have the nicest, well-maintained, cleanest fleets I've seen (as opposed to Aviation Center, no offense).

I forget the number of the room I lived in. It was a triple right above the laundry room and the place where the picked up the garbage. If you walked up the stairs by the mail boxes, as soon as you hit the 5th floor floor it was about 5 doors down on your right. I remember waking up to the beeping of the garbage truck.... Memories that can't be replaced.

By the way, have they kept up the tradition of the annual West Quad vs. South Quad snowball fight after the first legit snow?

Yes.

The worse thing is that some as*hole will pull the fire alarm in hopes of getting everyone outside. I'm for the snowball fights, but NOT for pulling a fire alarm to get people to go out.

I don't ever remember the fire alarms getting pulled. We usually were alerted by yelling and/or someone running up and down the hall.

My most vivid memory was freshman year when some kid from South Quad decided to pull a kamikaze snow ball throwing mission and came across Madison. Unfortunately for him, a few athletes(I won't specify) grabbed him and choke slammed him after he pelted one of them in the face at close range.

Then, sophomore year after West Quad's victory people decided running them inside wasn't enough. They decided to take the snowballs inside South Quad's lobby and it got completely trashed.

One thing I'll never miss about WQ was the grub. Two words: Entree Plus.

man, i miss ann arbor. I lived in the burlodge in '01, on McKinley in '02 and N. University Ct (near stockwell) in '03/'04.

Entree Plus was definatly a necessity!! best was when they added it to the Big House so you could use it there.

I have my Michigan flag hanging in my room out here - gotta represent!

Cool. I've got a few months left at UMich. Nice to see other people who went there on here..though I didn't live in West Quad (South Quad is better) ;-)
