| Here are two short video clips from the training field. I assembled the raw footage from a couple of backseating flights in a BE-76 and C-172. Nothing outstanding but I thought I would post it anyway. | Senior Member | Sweet videos! I loved when the instructor shoved the guys hand off of the throttles when he cut that engine on takeoff. The cloud footage is breathtaking.

Engine out practice on takeoff can get interesting real quick if the student freezes up. Using the mixtures is standard procedure for t/o engine failures in light twins, usually at around 20-25 kts in a Seminole or Duchess (half Vmc speed). It happened so quick, but it looked like the CFI failed the right engine, student kept the throttles full, so he failed the left one (to stop the yaw), then took the controls. Usually a simple "My flight controls" is all we need to say to take the airplane, but sometimes the student may freeze up and a little push is necessary. Nice vids though...looks like Cali would be an interesting place to fly. -Brock Sargeant MEII | |

| Slightly delayed reaction on that engine failure on takeoff.
