Well, apparently there's a memo going around that we might be displacing CAs in the NWA bases. Not sure what the details are, but my funds are woefully inadequate if that happens. So, regrettably, I've gotta back out of NJC yet again. This time it's economic issues. Hopefully, things will be okay, I can stay in base (but still on reserve) and in the left seat. Worst case in that situation is I have some extra $$$ in savings. Never a bad thing. Other options are displaced to another base (which would mean me getting a crash pad and losing days off in the month going to and from base) or even going back to the right seat. We'll just have to see how things shake out. I'd rather be prepared financially for the worst and hope for the best, though. Have fun, everyone.

seriously?? i thought you had vacation time all lined up? are you going to lose that with these changes or is it just about the financials...we can put you up in the one room we have reserved too (for the late comers or those who need to bunk)..... we can fit 4 to 6 in that room.

You could displace over to Atlanta, dude! :-/ I think it really sucks we've got a displacement coming up. Hope you don't get hit with it. So much for us making it through the crud..... and why are we displacing while doing classes? What gives? What are the ramifications for your pay? I'm looking at the contract and.... well it's not good. I would assume that you have to go back to FO pay. That sucks! That needs to be changed in the next contract too. |

Come on man, it's too early to make that decision. Heck Pengy even offered for you to crash at his room for free! I'd wait until this displacement is written in stone and a for sure thing.

Running the numbers, it looks like I'll stay a CA, but I just don't know where I'll be. Officially, they haven't even said where they're displacing TO, but signs point to ATL. Reading over the displacement part of the contract....it's a pretty sweet deal. You can get the 24/7 per diem and the lodging costs up front, so you're looking at almost $4000 cash right there. If you're a commuter that's not gonna be moving anyway, it's free money (except I think the lodging is taxed, but the per diem is tax free). There's also stuff in there for house hunting trips and moving expenses. The only thing I need to look into is does it mean ONLY to your domicile or does it cover moving to another city that would make your commute easier as well. If it's the later, I might actually volunteer for the displacement to ATL. A) 900 CAs make more $$$. B) If the company is gonna PAY to help move us to Orlando......I'm not gonna let that go. ![]() We'll wait and see. I appreciate the offers of free places to stay, and I'll let ya know. As of right now, it's on hold until I run some financial issues. If it's between Vegas and moving to Orlando, sorry guys. O-Town wins.

| Old Skool | We just might have to hurry and get that bagel and coffee before I leave. ![]() Assuming this is a displacement for CAs to ATL and I get good news from the financial guy I'm talking to tomorrow, this could be a Good Thing. If I get the thumbs up on the financials, and they're basically looking to move CAs from the -200 to the -900, I'm volunteering. Wife pretty much put her foot down and said "Do it" once we ran the numbers.
