Karaoke schmarakoe.

I'm serious on this one. If nobody comes to the Palms with me to go to Ghost Bar or Playboy Club, I'm gonna be pissed!

Those places were cool. Just ask Christine. Where the hell is she anyway?

If I have a Wii by then, we could hook it up for some interesting games. Something to do for those under 21 too.

Better to be pissed off, than pissed on! Unless of course that is ones thing.

Cool? Ehhh...Take it or leave it.....What was the cover? $20 or $30? and drinks?...Just asking? I don't need to drop $50 to hang with the cool people.. If The Wife wants to go though I would probably make the trip.

Christene has gone deep undercover. She got tired of the grind of CFI'ng, working, etc.....She cut waaaayyyyyyy back on instructing and is taking a break from flying in general. Her blog hasn't been updated much either. I think she is jsut recharging her batteries or something.

Eh, I probably wouldn't be too interested in sleeping at the Sahara. I prefer a nicer hotel when I'm on my own time. The company puts me in enough old dingy hotel rooms on their time.

Well, then go get yourself a nice hotel room.

With my budget I will likely be bringing a fifty dollar bill and try to win a place to sleep each night.

I'm with you, I am rather picky at which hotel I stay at. For now, I have reservations at the Westin......

I'm with you, Disco Stu!

Seriously. It'll be my first trip to Vegas. I've been to Ghost Bar here in Dallas and really liked it.

Yes. I'm in.

I'll probably get a room at Planet Hollywood. That's where ALPA stays for the BOD meeting, and I was very happy with it last time. It's in a nice spot on the strip, too, real close to Caesar's Palace with the Forum shops and everything.

The phoenix and daytona rooms along with the golden room for the networking event.

basically they're starting renovations in december so originally, they'd turned me down saying they weren't booking after August....then came back and told me it was avail. at $55/room, that's good....but i have to fill up enough to offset the $6K for the food/beverage requirements (total) for the entire shindig.

sorry, that might be too much info for ya'll....but these are some of the choices we have. I'm really quite inclined to go with the Sahara simply because it's about the same price as the convention center at the MGM which we couldn't get. it's on the strip (which we wanted), tables are low so we can actually play and it's less work for me and doug with not having to go out and *find* food/rent keg...

granted, it's down the strip but hooked to monorail....going into renovations in november so that means it might not be so "nice" inside yet inexpensive enough to afford without going too far in debt (for the most part, registration fees still won't cover the whole cost again..but WHATEVER!...we've never made profit anyways even in years past...why start this year? HAHA )

I do too....but i like to stay where ever the group is staying so it's all just a bed for me. We learned early on that when you don't stay where most of the group is staying, you do a lot of running around and that's not fun.

I try to get as nice a rooms but inexpensive as possible (like the monte carlo last year) since most who attend are regional pilots and/or CFI's but i can't please everyone. I'll tell ya what... it was a royal treat to stay in the bellagio suite for a night 2 years in a row!! probably never do that one again...oh well...

I tried to get the Marriott to host our meeting but apparently they don't have enough space for us...why the marriott? cuz we have reward points duh! could you imagine how many more reward points we could rack up by having the gig held at the Marriott? oh well, another time, another town, another JC event!! haha

I'd love to stay at PH... I really liked it to....I'm just thinking that not everyone can afford $179/night. Even I think that's a bit too high....

I wouldn't mind getting everyone group rate rooms at both Sahara and PH but they'd have to be filled....that's where the group problem comes into play.

$179 is a bit too high for me this year I do want to stay where everyone else is staying though. The Sahara, albeit probably a bit more dingy roomwise than even the Excalibur, seems to have the all around appeal for the average young regional pilot, CFI, wannabe; cheap rooms, cheap tables, cheap transportation, and if we can find some cheap women....hey even Tony would be down! badaaaa Bing!

I know you demand the best Tony

The unfortunate part of traveling with a large group is having to lock up rooms so early, and at such a high rate. Last year the room rates dropped leading up to the event.

the neat thing is that we'd be able to have the meeting space ALL day for the 3 days....so we could use them for more than just the roundtables and/or job fair....we could host Movie Hour or who knows what! HAHA
can i share a room with jtrain? i mean, we will be married by then!

So the M&G is Monday vs. the first night last year (Sunday)?
