Default Rates at the Monte Carlo have decreased!

Under the group code XNETJC, the negotiated rate for a standard room at The Monte Carlo was $129/night

But I just checked their website and rates have come down significantly.

I called them to change my reservation from the group rate to the web rate, and they accepted it. The deposit I paid will be applied to the new rate.

By doing this I will save about $90 for a 2 night stay.

Just thought I'd share.

Yep I saw that as well!

I called and they said for the person handling the group to contact the reservations manager to have it adjusted though.

Wonder why they did two different things?

I just checked the Excalibur and it has decreased $40 from what I booked the room for. I wonder if I can get that back.

I just called the Excalibur and did the same. All it takes is a phone call and a "Hey I noticed the rates have gone down...Can you give me those rates?".

So rates at Excalibur now
Sat $151
Sun $70
Mon $70

That is for a view room. Rates are about $40 less...total for the 3 days for a normal room.

Kristie do we have to call to have them change the rate or will they just do it at check in due to the group code being lowered?

Well, I just got off the phone w/ them a couple minutes ago to confirm the rates had been applied to my reservation.

It seems as though, provided you booked using the JC 'group code,' the new rates are automatically applied to your reservation.

I was told rates are as follows:

Sat: not included (whatever rate you were given when you reserved)
Sun: $69
Mon: $89
Tues: $99

I questioned the Monday rate of $89 since others stated it was $79.......I was told that's wrong, the rate is actually $89. Dunno?

No, it's $79. Stick to your guns!
If they tell you anything else, then we can set Doug on to them!

She said $89 to me as well at first, then I asked "Are you sure about Monday? I think it should be $79."

After that it was $79

Man, I got transfered to a couple people in 'group sales' and I questioned a couple times. The guy, who was some sort of manager, who was the last I talked to.....said $89.

Guess I need to make another call. Who did you people talk to, so I can request them! It's only $10.....but hey, I'd rather give it to 'em in the casino than straight away for the room.

I just got off the phone with them and they said the new rates are higher?

Apparently the new prices are higher than what I have booked now?
