Taking a look at booking group rates for the weekend of the 19th - 21st (before checking into the Monte Carlo)....rates look ok for Sahara, Stratosphere end of the strip which might also be kinda fun... new end of the strip is definately a lot more expensive... so we could be on the old/cheap/better odds side for the weekend and then move down on the newer side for the week. As long as I have enough people wanting to come in for the weekend, i can book a set of rooms. |

Again I'm not sure I'll make it until October is awarded, but for people looking at the Sahara... I stayed there last year. Ended up with a $65 a night room. Not too shabby. Plus the Sahara has it's own monorail station. $5 and 15 minutes and you are at the heart of the strip. |

they're actually showing about $125/nt right now... Stratosphere and Excalibur are also right around there..hopefully the prices will come down some as we get closer! |

Not sure about this hotel since I have never been to Vegas but Circus Circus is going for 109.95 a night for the 19/20th for a manor motor lodge room or $119.95 for the "Skyrise Tower Room" or "West Tower Room". Also I am on a list to get specials from the Luxor, Belagio, Circus Circus, Excalibur, Mandalay Bay, Monte Carlo, Mirage, MGM Grand, and New York New York and right now the Luxor has deals (~$90 for a friday night) out through April. As they go further into the year and have good deals for this weekend I will let you know. Pilotwife76 aka Stacie (Pacman's wife) |

Thanks for the information - will keep an eye out. I have tried priceline a couple of times for make your own price - just to see what would happen - they aren't giving the 4* strip hotels away for 130 a night yet - so we will keep watching. Stacie |

| Moderator | Oops, didnt see you were looking at the Fri/Sat rate. Yes, you will be hard pressed to find that rate at the bigger hotels. If anyone is looking at staying more than the few nights for NJC, a condo is well worth looking at.

As a heads up for those coming two nights early....we (wife and I) booked a room at the Imperial Palace for $123 a night. It is located center strip and price seemed reasonble for a Fri/Sat night. Just thought I'd share the info. Pac Man |
