Default Reserving your room at the Monte Carlo

ok, here are the instructions for reserving your room at the Monte Carlo.

Call 1800-311-8999 and book your reservation under group code: XNETJC

at the time of booking, each guest will be required to use a credit card for the first night's stay +9% tax. you have till September 21, 2007 to book your room and you have 48 hrs prior to arrival to cancel your room.

They say there's a $25 surcharge for more than 2 persons per room (but honestly, i don't think you have to tell how many are in your room if you don't want to - they're only going to give you two keys and you'll have to share). you can ask for a double queen or a king sized room and you can request smoking (altho these are on separate floors from non-smoking).

The room costs (double occupancy) are currently:
Sunday (10/21) = $129/night ($35/4 person - incl tax)
Monday (10/22) = $129/night
Tuesday (10/23) =$109/night ($30/4 person - incl tax)

so the total for all 3 days would be $400 (incl taxes) or about $100 per person if 4 to a room.

Also, if you want to upgrade, here are the prices:
Monaco Suite -> add $90/night stay
Diamond Spa Suite -> add $250/night stay

Apparently, the International Autobody Association and Pack Expo are going on that week/weekend, so Monte Carlo's rates for friday and saturday rates are quite high ($239 & $309, respectively). If you find better rates, i can try and get a block of rooms (depending on how many are staying the weekend) elsewhere.

Any questions?

Let's

room rates haven't changed for fri or sat night but she said you can add them on or take them off anytime from your existing reservation (pretty handy!)

So, who for sure wants to share a room? I think the suites look nice, especially for packing inappropriate numbers of people into one room! I would be happy to just split the cost of a regular double room, too.

Just booked a room for this. Reservations (Sean) was very helpful.

I wouldn't have a problem with splitting a room with someone.

Might be looking to share if I go. Oct is still far away to me haha. I come from an airline family so I'm used to making travel plans no more than a day ahead.

If I come in without my wife then I am up for sharing a room. October is still far away but hopefully I can make it. If anyone is going from PHX let me know, perhaps do a roadtrip.

we might be able to help with that depending on if i still have my SUV then or not.

max & dvtpilot might also need a fellow driver. I'd check with those two first.

Just tried it online and there is no record of the code as well.

Not sure where you are traveing from, but check nwa[dot]com.

I got a good rate from there, then again that may be because I am traveling NWA.

The group code should be good till September 2007.

she's wrong...try again with a new guy and ask them if all the rooms are already booked, if not, you shouldn't have any problem getting one now.

if you keep having problems (or if anyone keeps having problems), let me know and i'll call and have a little chat with em.

Kristie,

Thanks for that. I called back today and spoke to a Martha, very cool lady.
3 nights + tax = $400.03.
You get billed for the first night, $140.61, immediately but you can cancel that up to 48hrs in advance and get it back.
Also, you can swap the king size bed for 2 queens for no charge; however, there is a charge if you tell them more than 2 people are staying.
Check-in is at 3pm, check-out is at 11am.

OK, the monte carlo is running a pretty good special for our dates right now.. i'd jump on that since our group rate is now closed (they can't accept anymore room reservations for our group code 30 days prior).

However, in talking to group sales and noticing that they're running this pretty awesome special ($240/sat, $100/sun, $120/mon-tue), i was able to get the 15 folks, who did book a room under our group rate, some money back.

Under the XNETJC group code, the price for Sunday is now $99...the price for Monday is now $119 and Tues stayed at $109.

just an FYI for those who did book using the group rate to look at their receipt when they go to checkout - make sure they have you at the above rates.
