***HOTEL ALERT*** for those without rooms

If you haven't booked your hotel for NetworkJC, I'd advise booking the Hawthorn using the special NetworkJC rate.

Hotel rates have spiked that weekend and after the booking deadline Kristie mentioned, the special negotiated rate at Hawthorn isn't going to be available.

Unless, of course, you're ok with staying at the Circus Circus on the backlot "motor lodge" for $130/night. Methinks you might not like that! [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

Seriously, folks, even if you don't know if you can make it, book your room. You can cancel the reservation later. Get the room now!

Your credit card won't be charged until the cancellation deadline has passed.

and dont' forget... you can cancel up to 72 hrs beforehand... so my advise is book the room and if you can't make it, you can cancel it! but it is better to at least have it booked just for precautionary measures!

please don't forget to let me know so i can double check on the booking and that you ARE getting the $89 rate!

edit: Doug's not kidding.. I just checked out the rates myself on Nonrevcentral, Orbitz and Expedia.. and casino hotels like Luxor and even San Remo (right next to Hawthorn) are at approx $200/nt (more for sat nite). If you don't want to pay cab fares all weekend (prob @$12-15/ride from down the strip near Stratosphere - they're even at $80/nt), I'd grab your room today! I won't be able to guarantee anything after the 24th with the way the room rates are going up (what's going on over there?)...

as far as other conventions going on: use this link -> here to see what other conventions are going on besides ours.. the largest that i'm seeing close to our time of event is the Nat'l Mining Assoc in which they have 35,000 members attending.
