Default Hiking at Red Rock?

Well, since Kristie said to post potential events for the Vegas trip here, that's what I'm doing. I would like to go out to Red Rock Canyon on Saturday to do a little hiking. I've been there before and only had a few hours to spend, and I really enjoyed it. I'd like to make a day trip out of it. Anyone who's interested, let me know.

I should be able to get there early. Will advise. It's only a short drive from Area 51 to downtown anyway..............

Now, that sounds pretty groovy! I just may have to join you guys. I'm sure #2 will still be sleeping...how long did you wanna go? Shall I bring my pack and rifle? 782 gear?

for what? hiking? no firearms needed....

I wouldn't mind a little hiking, but not if there be firearms in da hoose!

I'm not sure I'd want to afford a full day for it though.. maybe a few hours at best

Kristie, while you and Doug were off galivanting around Europe, MikeD has been recruiting JC members that are prior or current servicemembers, for his new project!

Hiking, depending on where you go, is the one place you probably need to be packing some protection.

That was the one nice thing about when I used to fly cargo to Bullhead-Laughlin. My route was PHX-E25-IGM-IFP. I'd layover about hours at IFP, and spend my time seeing cheap movies, getting a cheap lunch, and gambling a bit. Fun stuff for a lowly entry-level freight dog.

Not sure we'd have to get there early. We could head out Saturday morning since it's only 20 miles from Vegas. We wouldn't have to spend the whole day there.

Anyone play craps? Might be a suitable post-hike activity.

Four and the six, hard eight, hi/low yo!

Hiking sounds like a good time. I doubt the better half would do it though. How about a JC scavenger hunt ! Maybe not, we could get into trouble and booted out of JC-AirAmerica.

Me in the casino is like Clark Griswold in Vegas Vacation!!!!

I've got to admit that I'm used to playing craps in dark corners of the streets while listening to curse-rap and drinking cheap beer....
