Can anyone shed some light on Spirt? I.e. QOL, Work rules, etc. Is DTW the junior base?

There's a guy at flightinfo that works there. I forget his name but he's always seemed like a pretty good guy in the past. He's pretty pro-union, though...

Spirit did a little hiring about 10-12 months ago but since then hiring has been pretty slow. I am not sure if Detroit is there Junior base, think it is but cannot remember.

If you do not mind the commute, and would like teaching, FlightSafety Toledo is growing. The salary is above you 40K mark and you get to sleep in your own bed every night.

Sorry I do not have anymore information, but I do have a resume on file with Spirit, and a inter company reference and time well above their minimums and have not heard anything for over a year.

Best of Luck,

Thanks for the info guys. I am holding my breath and hoping that some volunteers take a furlough or transfer to the 135 side. It is looking better that I may make the cut.

There is only a few guys ahead of me but it is a small company. Business would have to really pickup and get the previous guys recalled first. I am guessing it will now be closer to 2 more years. But who knows, this is a crazy business we are in. One minute a company can't train pilots fast enough then the next they are letting them go...
