This is all I was able to find on it. It was in a Military.com forum and the post was from Jan. 2006 by someone I cannot vouch for but who seems knowledgeable just on the basis of the details he provides in his post.

It seems like the Army Warrant Officer Flight Program I wanted to qualify for during the Viet Nam war while I was still in High School. All I had to do was graduate quickly enough and I was in. But by the time I finished High School, and before my 18th birthday the qualifications for the program went back to what it had once been. Open only to college graduates.

But I was colorblind so it wouldn't have mattered anyway.

I enlisted and served in the Signal Corps.

Here is the link to the Army Warrant Officer Flight Program recruiting info page.

Good luck.

I hope this helps.

When I went through in 2001-2002 you had to be proir service to apply to WOFT with the Reserves or National Guard, Regular Army will take you as a civilian. In my case I was accepted into the Regular Army WOFT program after one semester of college with no prior service.

Thank you for the reply Low_Level_Hell and marsden, you guys been very helpful.

AT the moment I'm serving for the Army reserve in New York, I was active for several years. I believe there is no reserve aviation unit here in NY, I found several Guard unit. I'm going to try to find a unit out in NJ and go from there. Once again thank you.

Do they take residents or do you need to be a citizen?

Citizenship is a basic requirement for all warrant officer and officer programs in US military. Secret security clearance elegibility is required for most too.

JJHeli,

I think your Reserve time may help get you in to a Guard flight slot so don't just limit yourself to Reserve.
