| Junior Member | I was talking to a recruiter online today about becoming a flight medic (nurse). I still believe the answers are preprogrammed because one of my questions was not answered the way a person would answer it. Anyways, to be a flight medic do I need to be certified as a medic (nurse) before I join the ANG or will the ANG train me? I was under the impression that the military will train you in all areas. This is something I would really want to do. It mixes the 2 career areas that I love. Flying and medicine. Any help at all would be appreciated. Thanks. mike |

| A medic is different than a nurse. Not going to argue who is better because that can really come down to the individual. Medics and Nurses perform many of the same jobs but there are things medics can do that a nurse can't and vise versa. On the training note. You'll go to one of the AF medic schools. Hope this answers your sleep

| Junior Member | Yes it does. Do you know how long the training is? I really want to fly, but I figure this would be a good thing to do while I am working towards a degree.
