8 years as 11B (Infantry) with the Army National Guard (currrently still in ARNG).

First two years I was a dirty nasty leg with an HHC Scout Platoon. Good group of guys, but I didn't feel challenged there.

So I tried out and made it into a Long Range Surveillance Unit (LRSC, ABN) where I am currently the ATL (Assistant Team Leader) for my team. I'm currently on jump status and have jumped from UH-1s, UH-60s, CH-47s, C-23s, C-130s, C-141s, and C-17s. Almost got a jump from a Marine CH-53, but a thunderstorm and several tornadoes came through our AO, cancelling our jump.

I also serve as a member on an Honor Guard team.

Infantry was my second choice, but still an excellent one! I wanted to fly any airframe (fixed or rotary wing) for anybody (still do), but I have glasses and old age, and nobody was/is giving waivers for either/both.
