Default Any Guard/Reserve pilots that have another flying job...

Hi,

I know that regionals don't have too much of a problem hiring guard pilots, and I've heard they will be flexible, but how about the rest of the industry? Any guard/reserve guys work for a charter, 135 freight, corporate, or anything like that? I can't seem to find to many pilots that are guard and anything else but airlines. Thanks-

Actually, I don't think they're allowed to discriminate if you're in the Guard/Reserve. Same thing if you already had the job and then joined. I'm pretty sure it's illegal to do so.

I know they can't disciminate once you have the job. But I can see some of the other gigs besides the airlines turn you down if your in the guard.

I know a guy that flies a Turbo Commander for a corp and tankers in the guard. PM me your info if you're interested in getting in contact with him.

They're not allowed to tell you "we're not hiring you because you're in the guard."

I can see corporate being an issue. Employers can get around anything if it's a matter of "business necessity." You don't have to provide "disabled" people with accommodations if it's too taxing on your business. Same thing with a corp. If they want to have 2 pilots to be on call all the time, and you're in Asskrakistan when they want to take a trip, they're going to need a 3rd pilot. Why have 3 when you can have 2 that will always be around?
