Default Airline seniority while training

So if I was to get hired by an airline prior to being selected for UPT would I have to quit for training or could I get a LOA? Would my seniority be held?

If you got hired you work for for them now and are covered by law if you take a military absence. This goes for all companies, not just airlines.
