Default First AF meeting scheduled, have questions

Hi all,

I have a meeting scheduled for next week with an AF recruiter about going into OTS. However, the guy that I am meeting with is a S Sgt. My dad (ex Air Force) was surprised that I was meeting with an enlisted guy instead of an officer. He was under the impression that Officer Recruiters were always officers themselves.

On another subject, I was told that because I was arrested back in 2001, I would have to do a Moral Evaluation and sit down with the recruiter and his boss. I was wondering if any of you know what one of these is like and what I should expect.

Thanks for any insight.

Make sure that this SSgt really is a recruiter for Officers and not enlisted. Otherwise you will be thoroughly disappointed.

I was arrested on a Class D substance charge. I went on probation for a year but was never convicted of anything.

When I applied to OTS back in '03, my recruiter was a SSgt, as well. Just make sure he is an Officer accessions recruiter and not for enlistees. The recruiter I had, only handled OTS applications.

The recruiters are all enlisted themselves, some do officers, some do enlisted, talk to the officer accessions recruiter like the guy above said.

PS. OTS is pretty hit or miss these days (it exists to supplement the main commissioning channels ROTC and the Academy, they take less and less every year now because the AF is over its authorized) Most of the slots are for what the AF considers technical career fields.

Ya, I've been hearing that a lot lately (that the AF is pretty picky about its' OTS guys) Do you know if the Navy is as restrictive?
