Long story short, due to a freak accident a piece of bone broke off in my pinky finger and it had to be reattached surgically with a screw. I'm in a cast for 2 weeks and then a splint for 2.5 mos. I should recover a full range of motion in the finger, maybe a 10 degree loss on each end. Would something as small as this disqualify me from the military?

I'm in the AF reserves right now. last month I broke my ankle and a chunk of bone detached itself and required surgery with two screws. I have an interview this SAT to fly C-17's and no one is that concerned about it. So, the short answer is, no it shouldn't disqualify you.

I would not go out of my my way to tell them. If the scar can be visually observed, then you must.
