General rule: Anybody not activly engaged in military flying wearing a flight suit is a poser. ![]() Short list of exceptions, CAP members at the airport CAF members at the airport Civilian EMS pilots Civilian airshow pilots. FYI nomex flight suits are very uncomfortable and itchy. I always imeiatdely changed into my regular coveralls after landing. |

LMFAO He says "Other rated pilots" as if to say he is a rated pilot..... Reminds me of that MikeD story where he told off the Major |

Hilarious. Although both posts seem almost too pathetically "wannabe Maverick" to be real. Especially that baseops one. It reads like a spoof. Come on - Brogan Steele! Just for S&G's I Googled that name and it came up as a D&D character. |

I find old flight suits very useful for working on my car in the garage! Two reasons: 1. It's a boost to my ego I can still get into someting I wore 30 years ago! 2. Being that old, they're not Nomex but the old K2B kind! (still have Captain rank on them!.....now that is OLD!) |

[ QUOTE ] The old cotton flightsuits? That's really in the way-back machine! Cool!. [/ QUOTE ] Oh thanks...as I need to be reminded that I'm an old fart! Actually a fat, old fart, drunken, redneck NASCAR fan!The first time I ever saw a Nomex flight suit was when I was flying C7s in Vietnam, early 1970. They were pretty few and far between and they didn't have enough of the right size. I really didn't get any myself until I was a KC135 CCTS IP at Castle AFB in late 1973. Like I said, the neatest part of the old K2B is still being able to get into one, albeit not quite as easily as I once did! I've kind of "retired" them from garage use for sentimental reasons! |

As for my garage, I have a DOD and NASCAR waiver. It was easy to get the one from the DOD. Took a lot of money to get the one from NASCAR, just like any thing else you get from them! |
