Default Interesting gig

Excerpt from an e-mail that came my way, forwarded down to me today......this sounds interesting as well as up my alley.

Looking for someone to stand up new capability for our unit. The 6th
Special Operations Squadron is AF's only Combat Aviation Advisory unit. We are part of Air Force Special Operations Command at Hurlburt Field. We train, advise, assess, assist foreign air forces and help integrate them into coalition operations. We currently maintain qual in and fly a wide range of helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft to include UH-1, Mi-8 Hip, Bell 412, AS-332 Super Puma, C-130, Antonov (An-26), Bassler BT-56 (a modified C-47), and OV-10. Some of these aircraft are on our flight line. Others are flown at training schools just prior to an op downrange. Our fixed wing mission area has focused primarily on night NVG ops (low level, equipment airdrop, personnel airdrop, blacked out landings -- infil/exfil). Now we are moving into air to ground attack and close air support mission sets. We lack pilots with this expertise. We will need a couple of folks who can easily transition to several types of attack aircraft (as the requirements down range change) and use their skills to instruct foreign pilots--i.e. fly with them. Instructor skills are extremely important. Due to the extensive spin up training requirements this assignment is a four year controlled tour.

TDY can be extensive - 200 days/yr.

If you've got someone who fits the mold and think the timing is right, please let me know. I appreciate any assistance.

V/R
