Default Hello everyone- I can answer your MTSU ?'s

Hello everyone, This is my first post and I feel that this section suits me. If you have any questions at all about the MTSU flight program please feel free to ask. I have been an instructor at mtsu for about 10months, have been a student here for almost 3, and have seen both ends of the aerospace department from the avenue of a student and an instructor. Hope I can help, it doesnt' seem like there are many current students or instructors in here.

Well I went to MTSU before, and now I am an instructor there. It took a lot of hard work to build up my knowledge, but it paid off because I was hired there. Now things are going to be better than the past because of our new Chief Instructor. Don't you think?

No they don't, but yes they do. Really you can build time with their instructor's but the primary use of the Seminoles is for students. So there won't be much time available to build time.

I noticed that MTSU has DA20 and DA40. Do you have plans for the DA42 for your twin training?

I was wondering how much it would cost to go to MTSU's pro pilot program. Also I was wondering if MTSU has a helicopter pro pilot program? If not could one be started? Cause i will probably transfer from middle georgia college with a CTF in thier helicopter pro pilot program to MTSU to start on planes. Could I maybe talk MTSU into getting a R22 robinson and and starting a helicopter pilot program cause not everybody wants to fly just airplanes. Last question, How much free time will a student have taking the pro pilot program?

Its been a while since I have been at MTSU, but I'm pretty sure that they won't buy a helicopter for training since their fixed-wing program is going great these days. As far as the price of the program, I cannot tell you because it has been a while. There will and should be enough free time between flying and school. One of the things that you want to do though is fly as much as possible on and off lab time. Do that then you will finish within the semester lab time.

Yeah you'll have tiime for that. While I was instructing I had a part-time job at Office Depot. But eventually you'll say that is too much and want to just instruct.

Of course. Most of the pilots who get their CFI at MTSU become instructors. Now you do have to stay out of trouble while getting your license, which some don't. So I hope you do great.

They are always in need of instructors. It comes in flows, when people graduate they move on to something new, most of the time. The wait for multi instructor was a year when I started instructing there. I don't know what it is now.
