MikeD Hi, how you doing? Yes, I currently fly for CBP based in Tucson, AZ. I know a few CBPOs....Port of Entry guys and the like..... that have have crosstrained to Air and Marine from Office of Field Operations (OFO....where CBPOs are assigned). The ones I know crossed over to be AEOs, or Air Enforcement Officers......non-pilots that fly as tactical team, or as radar operators or sensor operators on the Citation/PC-12 or helos. I haven't seen one yet that came in as a pilot, but thats only because I haven't seen it at my branch. It's entirely possible to do, for guys that get their own ratings and time, and I'm sure its already been done at other Branch's.

I read that you are currently with CBP, is that correct? Right now i'm trying to get in as a CBP officer, and get all my ratings for flying as time goes by. Do you know anyone that has switched over from being an officer to becoming a pilot for them? I was in the military so this is why I want to work for CBP, to use my years for retirement, but still get a chance to be a pilot.
