Those numbers that you see are misleading at best. The FAA like to include the total compensation, IE health ins, retirement, etc. The numbers that you see are pay numbers from before the IWR's (imposed work rules) were enacted and reflect the senior controllers pay. Since these were enacted, a 30% pay cut was imposed as well as freezing the higher controller salaries. IE my BASE pay (not including nights, holidays, weekends, etc) is 145k a year. Of course I have been in teh Agency since the mid 80's. So expect to make around 33k at the academy and then about 30% or less than your fellow controllers at your facility.
