    Hey,
I appreciate you sharing you thoughts and experiences on training as I know I have a ton of questions. One odd question that has nothing to do with the actual information of training though, how do the breaks and lunch work and can we bring our own food? I'm going to be doing a workout system while I am there and I want to be prepared to stick with the nutritional guidelines. Do they have a "cafeteria" or break room of some sort with a microwave or something? Thanks for any help. Also, is the map you are using the JAN one?

    Thanks,
    Jim

So....my laptop broke down not too long ago and while I wait for a new one I'm bumming off my roomies' laptops. Once I get my new toy in I'll make sure to post a new update about how OKC is going

With class starting on Jan 2, I decided to drive down to OKC on New Years' Eve. I wasn't certain how I would be celebrating the new year...just that I would be in OKC. As it turns out, I actually had a decent New Years' and I got my first taste of downtown OKC (pleasantly surprised by what it has to offer). I ended up going to the OKC Thunder basketball game (I didn't even know OKC had a pro team!...but they won their 4th game of the season that night). Afterwards I went out with my new roomie...

This morning I had a lovely wake-up call from OKC that kind of went something like this:
OKC: Good morning, how are you?
Me: Uh, fine. And yourself?
OKC: Good, thank you. Listen, I have a slot to fill for the Jan 2 class date. Would you be able to do that?
Me: Uh....wha??? Wow...that's like a week away! [Thinking in my head....holy crap holy crap holy crap!!!]
OKC: Yea, we're really trying to get this slot filled up.
Me: Um, yea I can do it.
OKC:...

So, my younger brother and I ended up both going through the CTI program. He went to UND and I went to ERAU. We also both graduated this last May. (It was my 2nd degree, so technically it was my 2nd time graduating). He got an offer mid-summer for Seattle Ctr and went to the PEPC in Chi-town in...when was it...oh yea, August. Gets done with that and he was told the same as everyone else: you'll hear back from us in about a month.

He waits and waits and never hears back. Being...

Before I quit for the evening, I'll give ya a quick introduction to: myself!

-I am a CTI student: first went to Florida Institute of Technology (I know, it's a mouthful...so FL Tech does just fine) for a degree in Aviation Meteorology. Then I transfered to ERAU for my degree in Air Traffic Mgmt. Obviously, ATC is the path I am embarking on.

-Took my AT-SAT in Daytona in March, passed w/ a 92.6.

-Initially offered Miami ARTCC in early June, but unfortunately...
