Default Goodbye Sallie Mae!!

Sent in my last payment this weekend! I'm sooo glad I suffered through higher 10 year payments and didn't do the 20 years payments.

I borrowed 27K (Which was a lot of money for flight training in '99). I could not imagine borrowing 50K+ for flight training.

Im drunk too

I'm at 128,428$ for 5 years of college, with everything for 3 years on loans. Flight Training Cost was about 70-80K alone.

Than G-D I never was in any debit for anything. That means flight training and my new car. Must have been one of those lucky ones.

Yeah, we are just going to keep taking the $385 a month that we were paying Sallie Mae and putting it away in a savings account.

Congrats Ryan! I know what you mean about the 27k being a lot back then. I was lucky to only spend about 33k three years ago! And I cannot wait for the day I can kiss it good bye!

33k sounds like a low price almost these days. How much is that loan payment?

That's not the worst I've heard. I have a co-worker who went to ERAU and spent a little over 200K. His loan payments are $1700 a month.

That person would have been better off being a real estate agent buying houses! You would get a better return back without the education. How bad does this person want to be happy?

He had no idea what he was getting into. "Blinded By The Light" would be an understatement.
