|  Eagle interview
I've been offered an interview at eagle coming up next week. I'm excited about it but I don't know many people that are currently working there. I'm having a couple buddies try to get me in touch with some current FO's but I'm wondering if anyone has some insight on the ATR in SJU, specifically life on SJU.
I've got about a million things running through my head right now and it would be nice to get in touch with a few people currently working for AE. Either through PM, phone, this thread...whatever works. I'd really appreciate it. |

I'm a current Eagle FO. I'm a DFW based Embraer pilot.
If you have questions, feel free to PM me and we can go over whatever you want to know. I may not be able to answer everything, but I'll do my best to help ya out.

I am only 16 and that may be far ahead, but I really do not see much better than being paid to fly around the Caribbean. Also the best part is if you live in NYC or MIA, it is a preety easy commute with dozens of flights going to each destination every day.

Commuting to SJU doesnt seem like an option. I heard from a friend that every time in/out of SJU you have to pay departure taxes and can't jumpseat. Apparently it's an international flight and therefore treated as such with regards to jumpseating.
The other option as far as base choice looks to be BOS, solely because I could bid it for the EMB and then bid ORD once in training. I'd be based out of home, but it certainly wouldnt be as fun as living somewhere like SJU...
Firebird, how was EMB training? What are the accommodations while training? How long did it take? | |

If you live in SJU the trips are good(most have 14 days or more off) if you can hold a line.

I was based in SJU for a year and did the commute. Its not bad from NY but chicago would be a little harder. When I was hired we couldn't pick our base before hand. I was the second youngest in class and got to choose between SJU ATR or Saab in LAX. Now I am based in LGA and drive to work. If i got hired now I don't think I would take SJU. Commuting sucks. Its not so much about the actual commute but being based home opens so many options as far a bidding schedules, picking up OT, etc. With that being said I did like flying in SJU and its something that I can always look back on and enjoy the memories. Hell I might go back down their for a captain upgrade. I'd probably just take ORD if I were you but thats just me. PM me with any questions.
