Just got my letter today, and found out that I was accepted into the Associate in Nursing Program. It's a two year RN program. I applied back in Nov. and just now got the confirmation. I'm excited. This ASN is to be my back-up career. But, things are going to slow down as far as flying. I was hoping to become a CFI, etc. by the end of this year, but with the ASN program acceptance, and my choice not to go with anymore loans for flight training, I'm now paying for my flights out of pocket. I have been accepted into UVSC for the BS in Aviation Professional Pilot program, but I can't afford to do both.
My goals. To finish the two year ASN program, get licensed, and hopefully at the same time, have my CFI ratings. Working in the hospital 3 days/week and instructing on some off days, will allow me to make decent money nursing to pay for flights, and to pay off loans, etc... and at the same time, enjoy instructing to build flight time, and when the time comes, to hang up my nursing career and finish my dream of flying. I just hope it all works out. It seems at times life is all planned out, and before I know it, I'm stuck deciding between which way to go.
Thanks for reading!
