Well folks, My days of a 121 pilot are semi-officially over. I say semi-officially because I haven't exactly left my airline yet. Sometime this week however, I'll be finished. I was recently called to become a product consultant and territory manager for a leading medical device firm. It was an offer I couldn't pass up for financial and QOL reasons. I'll be able to work from home and be on the road about 10 days a month making more than 10X my regional airline salary. I'll go back to being a CFI on the weekends and try to find someone to let me fly their Pilatus or Lear. I plan on staying very much involved in aviation from a teaching standpoint - it's truly my passion but not my career. It was a decision I struggle with in many aspects but don't blink an eye to others. It was a fantastic company. I flew with some great folks. I'll miss it everyday. However, my family and their well fare and comfort come first. It was a great opportunity and experience. I'll never forget it. Here's to all you airline guys.. I ain't got nothing but mad respect and love for all of you (especially you Train... Call me. I need some.)

Congratulations! Financial security should give you the flexibility to fly for recreation. Nobody telling you where to go...what time...or how much rest to get before you fly again. Sounds like a dream come true. Good luck!
