Default Hired!

Let's see, the tally for the week:

1. Training for the MEI and CFII: $1850.
2. Examiner fee for two checkrides $700
3. Two nights at the Country Hearth Inn in Siler City, NC: $120
4. Countless gallons of 87 octane: lost count
5. Hearing the pilot recruiter for Piedmont say "I'd like to offer you a class date of xxxx": priceless

(I don't think it's officially PFJ, but training for two instructor ratings for two days definitely helped me on my interview )

Three days, two checkrides, and one interview later, and I'm beat. 3.5 years from cubicle to flight deck, if I can do it, anyone can. Stay the course, fellow cube monkeys!

Thanks JC,!

Congratulations! Don't forget about us down in cubeland...maybe a wing dip every now and then for those of us still surrounded by 6 foot "walls".

Enjoy your new view!

Thanks all! Now to just find a way through all this literature they gave me prior to class

Where are you based? I seem to remember you mentioning two hops to get to your base.

Congrats Duck! Sounds like you arrived to play with Oscar right after I left!

What were your times? Is PDT hiring pretty regular right now?

Yeah, I didn't fly with Oscar last time, but did this time. He really knows his stuff. And Greg is a friggin' hoot.

Times were 375/30. They are running a class a month, not sure of the class sizes. There is some attrition due to the hiring agreement with mainline, but there is also some growth going on too, so that is feeding the demand. There was talk about adding/replacing some of the older aircraft (read: the -100s) with newer equipment, but no idea as to the timeline.

I think I have done that already. But on the flip side, I am done by 1300 and hop on next flight for home.

Sounds like fun, who does the walk-around?

I was just getting used to sending my students out to do the preflight too...
